Another good news after Kendriya Vidyalayas in UP!
After announcing the opening of new Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas in many states of the country including Uttar Pradesh, the central government is now preparing to take another big step in the direction of higher education. Under which, the announcement of opening new universities and colleges will be made soon in the states lagging behind in higher education. Preparations are being made for this. The name of Uttar Pradesh is also included in this list.
The central government has prepared a complete roadmap for the expansion of higher education in the next ten years. Further work will now be done on it. According to the news, these new universities and colleges will be opened in those states whose gross enrollment ratio of higher education is less than the national average or where the population eligible to acquire higher education i.e. their number per one lakh youth of the age of 18 to 23 years is less. UP also comes under these standards.
Higher education sector will get strengthened
The Ministry of education has taken this initiative under the new National education Policy 2020, in which the target is to achieve the target of increasing the gross enrollment ratio of higher education in the country to 50 percent in the next ten years. This step of the education Department will improve the level of education. The infrastructure of university and college institutions will be strengthened. Some of these institutions will be opened by the central government and some by the state government.
Talking about Uttar Pradesh, at present there are 29 colleges per one lakh population of 18 to 23 years in UP. Whereas in states like chhattisgarh and Haryana, the number is up to 32 and 33. Earlier, the central government has announced to open five new Kendriya Vidyalayas in Uttar Pradesh and four in Uttarakhand. Kendriya Vidyalayas in UP will be opened in Ayodhya, Kannauj, Jaunpur, Maharajganj and Bijnor.
