Narayana Murthy Buys 50 Crores Flat In Bengaluru - Netizens Slam

SIBY JEYYA
Indian netizens have once again targeted narayana murthy with hate mail, and this time, they haven't even expressed their views on working hours. According to reports, the co-founder of Infosys paid Rs 50 crore for a lavish flat in Bengaluru's Kingfisher Towers. The Times of india said that this 16-story, 8,400-square-foot, four-bedroom home features five parking spots.

His wife, rajya sabha MP sudha Murthy, purchased a Rs 29 crore apartment in the same building four years prior. Since the announcement, netizens have been criticizing Murthy on social media, expressing their displeasure with his most recent acquisition. The majority of their criticism stems from repressed rage at Murthy's assertion that a 70-hour workweek is necessary.

Following a contentious 70-hour workweek comment he made in a podcast with former Infosys CEO Mohandas Pai last year, Murthy made news for his views on work-life balance.

"India's labor productivity is among the lowest in the world," he had stated. We will not be able to compete with those nations that have made great strides unless we increase our productivity at work, decrease government corruption to some extent (because we have been reading, I don't know the truth), and shorten the time it takes for our bureaucracy to make decisions."

"Bro wasted 3 hours for registering the property so he will only clock 67 hours of work in the week," a user wrote on X replying to a post by Bangalore real estate reporting the co-founder's latest purchase.

"Infosys employees are instructed to work +10 more hours so that Mr. narayan murthy can buy one more flat in king fisher Tower for his grand child," another user commented.
One user shared a picture of the building and wrote: "Narayana Murthy buys Rs 50 cr luxury apartment in Bengaluru's Kingfisher Towers. He was the same person who was preaching simplicity, compassionate capitalism, and he wants people to work for 70 hours/week."
