In the year 1988, IBR Chopra's tv serial 'Mahabharata' was a superhit religious show. The character of 'Abhimanyu' was offered to govinda in this serial. At that time govinda was busy shooting a film due to which he refused it and later this role went to Mayur Verma.

'Moonlight'

Govinda was also offered a role in yash Chopra's superhit film Chandni, released in 1989. govinda was offered the role of lead actor rishi kapoor in this film but he refused it because in some scenes of the film, Rishi had to sit on a wheel chair and govinda did not want to do so.

Govinda was also offered a role in Subhash Ghai's superhit film Taal in 1999. Anil Kapoor's role in the film was offered to govinda but govinda was shooting for the film Deewana-Mastana at that time, so he did not accept the role.
