Supreme court rejected the petition to stop PM Modi

Supreme court Declines Plea Against PM: The supreme court has rejected the petition to stop prime minister Narendra Modi from contesting the elections. The petition was filed citing alleged hate speech.

The supreme court has rejected the petition filed by prime minister Modi to stop the elections. The court has also directed the petitioner to approach the election Commission. PM Modi had given a statement in Banswara, rajasthan in april during the campaign for lok sabha elections 2024. Criticizing the congress manifesto, he had said that it had a glimpse of the Muslim League.

The petition was filed on the basis of the statement given in Banswara

The petitioner had appealed, terming this statement given by the PM regarding the congress manifesto as hate speech. The supreme court has refused to hear the petition and rejected it. In its order, the court has directed the petitioner to approach the election Commission. The court also said in the order that only the election commission would be the appropriate place for such a complaint.

The bench of Justice vikram Nath and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma told the counsel for the petitioners that this is not the kind of case which we should hear directly in the supreme Court. Whatever complaints the petitioner has, they should be taken to the election Commission. After this, the counsel for the petitioners withdrew the petition and it has been considered dismissed.
