Telangana - Nearly 150 Locations record over 45°C - Gudapur tops at 46.6°C

On Wednesday, the whole state was engulfed in oppressive heat as temperatures surged to previously unheard-of heights in several places. The telangana State Development Planning Society's statistics show that by 4:00 pm, the maximum temperature reached over 45 degrees Celsius at a startling 150 locations—that is, 146—across many districts, sending the summer heat to unprecedented levels.
 
With a blistering 46.6 degrees Celsius, Gudapur in the nalgonda district set the record for the hottest temperature in the state for the day. At 46.5 degrees Celsius, bhadrachalam was closely behind, while other places like Chandur in nalgonda, Munagala in Suryapet, and Mangapet in mulugu were also scorching hot.

Hyderabad struggled with its extreme heat on Wednesday, even if it didn't experience the same degree of severity. It was 43.4 degrees Celsius in Quthbullapur, 43.1 degrees Celsius in Khairatabad, and 43 degrees Celsius in several places, including Rein Bazar, Banjara Hills, West Marredpally, Osmania University, Mehdipatnam, Uppal, Gachibowli, and Langar Houz.
 
With temperatures expected to rise beyond 45 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the meteorological service issued a red alert for portions of the districts of Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Suryapet, Khammam, Mahabubabad, bhadradri Kothagudem, mulugu, and Nalgonda. On Thursday, the temperature in hyderabad is expected to range from 43 to 45 degrees Celsius.
