After searching two fruit warehouses in Borabanda, the hyderabad police's West Zone Task Force found roughly 4,800 kg of artificially ripened mangoes that had been treated with ethylene.

In HF nagar, Borabanda, a guy called Mohd. Moiz, forty, was detained by authorities in the first instance. He was a manager of a fruit warehouse. The hyderabad police seized 160 trays of artificially ripened mangoes after the arrest. In addition to the 20 kg of fruit on each tray, many ethylene packets were also confiscated.

In the second case, the police detained 80 mango trays and sachets containing the ripening chemical after apprehending Mohd. Sadiq, a 47-year-old fruit trader from Sanjay nagar in Borabanda, Hyderabad.

Officials claim that a gang of fruit vendors in hyderabad used to supply fruits, especially mangoes this season, to a variety of fruit stores and juice bars. However, some providers are employing artificial ripening agents like ethylene because of the huge demand for fruits.

The guidelines set out by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of india (FSSAI) are broken by this practice. Furthermore, the providers in hyderabad violated the FSSAI requirements by placing the ripening material immediately on top of the mangoes.

The hyderabad officials stated that when these chemicals are used in excess, they might result in major health problems such as lung irritation, skin burns, irritation, and inflammation. Furthermore, breathing in the arsenic in these mangoes can cause neurological issues and heavy metal toxicity.
