Anderson told through social media that the first Test of the english summer will be the last Test match of his career. 41 year old Anderson has taken 700 wickets in 187 matches in Test cricket. He is the fast bowler taking the most wickets in the history of Test cricket. He completed his 700 wickets in the Dharamsala Test on the india tour earlier this year.

Anderson made his Test debut at Lord's in 2003. Now he will play his last test match on this ground. The match between england and west indies to be held from July 10-14 will be Anderson's farewell test. Anderson has taken this decision after talking to England's Test team coach Brendon McCullum. McCullum recently went to england to meet Anderson. He told Anderson that now we are looking towards the future and want to prepare a team for the next Ashes.

If he takes 8 wickets in his last Test, he will become the second bowler along with Shane Warne to take the most wickets in Test cricket.
