Obama says he will 'NOT' apologize for Hiroshima :: No Regrets on Atomic Bombing

SIBY JEYYA
US President Barack Obama on his visit to Hiroshima said he would not apologize for the devastating atomic bombing attack on Hiroshima. Barack Obama will be the first Sitting US President to tour the world's first nuclear bombing this Friday, accompanied by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

During an interview with Japanese national broadcaster NHK, Obama said, the reality is leaders need to make some hard choices during conflict times and no apologies would be included in my remarks.

He said, "It's important to recognise that in the midst of war, leaders make all kinds of decisions, it's a job of historians to ask questions and examine them. Every leader has made some difficult decisions and this has happened during war time."

It should be recalled that, a mob was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and that killed thousands of people instantly and Nagasaki was hit on August 9th and Japan surrendered after six days. A majority of Americans see the bombings as having been necessary to end the war and save U.S.
