Delhi Fire: The fire brigade had to extinguish the fire by spraying water from a distance in chandni Chowk

Chandni Chowk fire Video: The massive fire in the famous chandni Chowk market, called the heart of delhi, has been extinguished after about 11-12 hours of hard work. The fire that broke out in a shop at 5 pm on thursday spread to about 50-60 shops in a short time, due to which the fire brigade employees had to work very hard to control it. The fire was brought under control by around 4 pm on Thursday-Friday night. It is a matter of luck that despite the market being a market with very narrow streets, there were no casualties in such a big accident. However, goods worth crores of rupees of the traders have been burnt to ashes. The fire in the clothes was so terrible that even after it was extinguished, the surrounding area remained engulfed in thick black smoke for hours, due to which the residential areas of chandni Chowk also had to data-face trouble.

1. fire started from a shop in Marwari Katra

A shop suddenly caught fire at 5 pm on thursday evening in Marwari Katra area on the new road of chandni Chowk. The cause of the fire is not known, but a short circuit in the electric wires is being blamed for it. According to delhi fire service Director Atul Garg, at 5 pm, the control room received information about a fire in shop number 1580-81 in Marwari Katra. As soon as the information was received, 14 fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the spot, but the fire continued to spread.

2. fire engulfed 60 shops, two buildings collapsed

Due to the presence of saris, suits, lehengas and dress material in the shops, the fire spread rapidly, due to which about 60 shops from Marwari Katra to Anil Market were engulfed in it in a short time. Due to the continuous pressure of water being thrown from the fire brigade vehicles and the melting of slabs and T-iron in the fierce fire, the main building in which the fire broke out has completely collapsed. Another building located behind it has also been reported to have collapsed. According to Garg, despite such a terrible accident, we have not received any news of any casualties yet.

3. Rescue operations were difficult due to narrow lanes

The fire was so intense that 40 fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot, but due to narrow lanes, these vehicles could not reach the spot and the fire personnel had to park the vehicles 200-300 meters away and carry out the rescue operation. According to Garg, as soon as the information was received, 14 vehicles were sent to the spot, but as the fire continued to spread to other shops, 26 more vehicles were sent. I myself went to the spot and monitored the fire extinguishing operation. The biggest problem was due to the narrow lanes. This caused a delay in extinguishing the fire. The fire was spreading rapidly from one shop to another, to stop which we used water bowsers. 4. Breathing problems in residential areas

The fire in the cloth market of chandni Chowk engulfed the entire area in thick black smoke for hours. The chemical smoke arising from the burning of clothes also spread to the narrow streets of chandni Chowk area, causing breathing problems to people in residential areas. Even after the fire was extinguished, the smoke rising from the burnt shops is spreading in these areas.
