Blast in a gunpowder factory in Nagpur

A big explosion took place in a factory in nagpur, maharashtra on thursday afternoon. In this, 5 people have died, while half a dozen employees have been injured. Out of which the condition of three remains critical. At the time of the blast, the workers were working in the factory. As soon as the information about the blast was received, several fire brigade vehicles have reached the spot. Efforts are being made to rescue the people trapped inside.

The police said that this incident took place at Chamundi Explosive Private Limited in Dhamna village under Hingna police station area, about 25 km from here. A local police officer said that the explosion took place on thursday afternoon at around 1 pm, when the workers were packing explosive material.

Local people say that the explosion was so loud that the sound was heard for several kilometers. After the blast, a huge fire broke out in the factory. people started running here and there to save their lives. They informed the police and fire department about this. As soon as the information was received, the rescue workers reached the spot and took the injured workers out of the factory and took them to the hospital. Four of the 5 dead are said to be women.

NCP leader said- police is investigating

After taking stock of the spot, ncp leader Anil Deshmukh said that the accident happened due to an explosion in a gunpowder factory near Dhamna village. The owner and manager of the factory are absconding. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. He said that the police have started investigating the matter.

Deshmukh said that surprisingly, a big gunpowder factory was running in the area, but it did not have a single ambulance of its own. Explosive manufacturing factories often keep their own ambulances and a team of doctors. A team of the Explosives Department has started investigating the matter.
