In fact, a pune court has directed rahul gandhi to appear in a complaint filed by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar's grandson. rahul gandhi has been accused of defaming the Hindutva ideologue by claiming on behalf of the petitioner's lawyer. At the same time, no lawyer of rahul gandhi appeared in the court during the hearing. However, a detailed order in the case has not been made available yet.

The order was passed by Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Akshi Jain. The order was passed after the pune police said in a report that there was prima facie truth in the complaint filed by Satyaki Savarkar, alleging that congress leader rahul gandhi had defamed the late freedom fighter during a speech in london in 2023. The order said that the next hearing will be on august 19, 2024.

In the complaint filed by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, it is said that rahul gandhi has claimed during one of his speeches that VD Savarkar had written in a book that he along with five-six friends had beaten up a Muslim man. This gave him happiness. In the complaint, Satyaki Savarkar has said that no such incident ever happened nor has it been written in any book. He has called rahul Gandhi's allegation false and imaginary.

What do the police have to say on the matter?

After Satyaki Savarkar filed a complaint in the case, Vishrambagh police also submitted a report in the court. In which it was told that Vinayak Damodar Savarkar did not mention any such incident in any of his books. Despite this, rahul gandhi has made such a comment in his speech. The police admitted that there is truth in Satyaki Savarkar's complaint.
