Amritpal Singh's bail plea rejected...

The punjab government on friday (May 10) informed the punjab and haryana High court that it has made arrangements to file nomination papers for radical Amritpal Singh from Khadoor Sahib seat in the lok sabha elections. The state government has given this information on the petition filed by Amritpal Singh, head of 'Waris punjab De' organization. He is currently lodged in Dibrugarh jail of assam in a case registered under the National Security Act.


In the petition, Amritpal Singh had sought temporary release of seven days to file his nomination papers. Apart from this, he had alternatively requested to direct the defendants to make arrangements for filing his nomination papers. Amritpal is contesting the lok sabha elections as an independent. In the last phase of lok sabha elections, voting will be held on june 1 on all 13 lok sabha seats of Punjab.


Let us tell you that punjab Deputy Advocate General arjun Sheoran gave this information when the matter came before the court of Justice Vinod S Bhardwaj. On May 9, two sets of nomination forms and other paperwork were filled and signed by Amritpal Singh. The prisoner was allowed to meet his proponent and lawyer in Dibrugarh Central Jail on May 9.

He said that the Superintendent of Dibrugarh Central Jail will administer the oath to the prisoner as per the provisions of the law including the booklet published for candidates - 2023 and will issue a certificate for taking the oath. Also, the original form of oath will be sent to the returning officer of Khadoor Sahib. arjun Sheoran later said that the court declared the petition futile and disposed of it.
