BJP expressed confidence in wife instead of Union Minister…BJP has released its second list of candidates in Punjab. There are names of three candidates in this list. The most surprising name is that of Anita Som Prakash, who is the wife of the outgoing mp and minister. bjp has canceled the ticket of Union minister Som Prakash and made his wife its candidate from Hoshiarpur. Hoshiarpur is a reserved seat. bjp has been winning this seat for the last two elections.On the other hand, Anita has expressed gratitude to the party leadership for being given the ticket. Hoshiarpur is one of the three seats on which bjp had contested when it was in alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal, but this time bjp is contesting the seats in punjab on its own.Anita's competition with AAP's ChabbewalCongress Chabbewal has now joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Anita will compete with AAP's Chabbewal. Whereas congress and Akali Dal have not fielded candidates yet. On the other hand, bjp has fielded former IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu from bathinda parliamentary seat, from which Akali Dal's Harsimrat Kaur Badal is the MP. Parampal is the daughter-in-law of Akali leader Sikandar Singh Maluka. She recently joined the bjp with her husband Gurpreet Singh Maluka in Delhi.Former IAS officer got a chanceBefore joining bjp, Sidhu, a 2011 batch IAS officer, had resigned from her post. He is contesting against congress candidate Jeet Mohinder Sidhu and AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Khudian. At the same time, Akali Dal has not yet declared the name of its candidate from the bathinda seat. Bathinda's seat is considered the stronghold of Akali Dal. Harsimrat has won elections from this seat in 2009, 2014 and 2019. In the last lok sabha elections, he defeated congress candidate amarinder singh Raja Waring.
