Petition to ban prime minister Modi from contesting elections dismissed!

The delhi High court has dismissed the plea seeking ban on prime minister Modi from contesting elections for six years.Lok Sabha elections are going on across the country. Political party leaders are engaged in intense election campaigning. In particular, prime minister Modi is actively campaigning on a whirlwind tour across the country. During this campaign, PM Modi is accused of garnering votes in the name of gods and shrines. In that regard, lawyer Anand Jondale had filed a petition in the delhi High court seeking to ban prime minister Narendra Modi from contesting elections for six years, claiming that he was gathering votes for the bjp in the name of religion and religious places of worship.

In it, "Prime minister Modi said during a campaign meeting held on the 9th in the state of Uttar Pradesh that he built the ram temple, made the Kartarpur Sahib route and brought copies of the Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan. Based on this, I had filed a complaint with the election commission seeking to disqualify prime minister Modi from contesting elections for six years under the Representation of the people Act for violating election norms by collecting votes in the names of religious deities and places of worship. However, the election commission did not take any action on it. Therefore, prime minister Modi should order the election commission to bar him from contesting elections for six years.” as requested. The petition came up for hearing today before delhi High court Justice Sachin Dutta. At that time, the petitioner argued that it was a very dangerous speech that could divide the country. Likewise, the election commission is a constitutional body. There are complaints like this every day. Advocate Siddhant Kumar, who appeared on behalf of the election commission of India, said that the Commission will investigate the petitioner's complaint as per law.The delhi High court, which registered this, pointed out that the court cannot order the election commission in such matters and dismissed the petition saying that this petition is not suitable for hearing.
