holi is being celebrated today in many areas of Purvanchal including Gorakhpur. On the holy festival of holi, the chief minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar yogi adityanath started celebrating holi by worshiping Holika Bhasma. He enjoyed singing Phag songs in Gorakhnath temple and performed cow service by applying ashes and gulal to the cows. During his daily routine on tuesday morning, chief minister yogi adityanath reached Bhim Sarovar of Gorakhnath temple complex. Here he fed food to the ducks strolling on the banks of the lake. After this, the inauguration program of the colorful procession of cm Lord narasimha also took place.
chief minister yogi Adityanath's Holikotsav started on tuesday morning with the worship of Holika Bhasma in the form of Gorakshpeethadhishwar in the Gorakhnath temple complex. yogi adityanath went near Holika which was burnt in the fairground of the temple on sunday night and worshiped Holika Bhasma (ashes of Sammat) and performed Aarti amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. After this ritual, the head priest of the temple, Kamal Nath, and other saints and devotees took the blessings of Gorakshpeethadhishwar by applying tilak with this ash. Gorakshpeethadhishwar also applied tilak to him and wished him a happy Holi.
cm offered Holika's ashes to Shrinathji
From the Holika burning site, chief minister yogi adityanath reached the temple of Guru Gorakhnath ji and offered Holika ashes to Shrinath ji. After this, Phag songs were organized at the entrance of the temple. cm yogi also stayed there for some time and enjoyed the Phag and congratulated and wished everyone on Holi. On the occasion of holi, chief minister yogi adityanath reached the cowshed of the temple applied ashes and gulal to the cows, and wished them well. He served the cows by feeding them jaggery and milk and bread. Hearing the voice of cm yogi in the cow shed, the cows came running towards him. The chief minister also caressed all the cows a lot by caressing their forehead and neck.
