By how many days did the Commission delay?

Voting took place on 102 lok sabha seats in the first phase on April 19. On this day, the Commission estimated the voting percentage till 7 pm to be around 60%. The next day this voting percentage increased to 65.5%. Similarly, on April 26, the day of the second phase voting on 88 seats, the estimated voting percentage was around 60.96% at 7 pm. The next day the voting figure was reported to be 66.7%.

After this, on April 30, the election commission declared the voting percentage in the first phase to be 66.14% and for the second phase to be 66.71%. That is, 11 days after the elections in the first phase and 4 days after the second phase, the election commission released the final voting data on its website through a press note on 30 April. Opposition leaders are continuously raising questions on this delay, but tillMay 9, no official statement had come from the Election Commission on this.

After so many days of silence, finally, on May 10, the election commission responded in detail to all the allegations levelled against itself and has also given a valid reason for this delay.

In the letter written by the Commission to mallikarjun Kharge, it has been said that all these allegations are baseless. False and unnecessary allegations are being made to create confusion in the conduct of free and fair elections. The congress President is trying to push a partisan narrative.
