She will compete with TMC leader Mahua Moitra. amrita Roy is the queen mother of Rajbari (Royal Palace) of Krishnanagar. Speculations were being made regarding his candidature for the last few days. Amrit Roy had joined bjp on 20 march this month. He took membership in the bjp in the presence of Shubhendu Adhikari.
