Gopal Rai’s appeal to people of Delhi – Don’t do this work on Diwali...

Krishanthini

people living in the country’s capital delhi have got a lot of relief from pollution after the rains. Meanwhile,

regarding the changed weather patterns in delhi and surrounding areas after the rains, State Environment Minister

Gopal Rai said that the problem of pollution has ended after the rains. The wind has also started blowing. The

pollution level has reduced a lot, but people need to be cautious. He said that the people of delhi were living in a

special environment for the last 10 days. After a long time, due to rain and wind, people have got relief from

severe pollution. Now the pollution level in delhi has reduced by 50 percent from 450 AQI to 225 AQI, but it is

too early to say anything about its impact.

Environment minister Gopal Rai said that it is not that efforts were not being made to remove pollution. Efforts

were going on from the delhi government to reduce pollution. To reduce pollution, the number of vehicles was

asked to be reduced. The amount of dust in the sky was controlled. Burning of stubble was banned. Efforts were

going on at every level to reduce biomass burning. Still was not getting any benefit from it. This was because the

wind was not blowing. Due to lack of wind, pollution was not being dispersed. This is the reason why pollution in

delhi had taken a terrible form. After rain on Thursday, wind started blowing on Friday. Disbursement of

pollution has also started due to wind blowing. Its direct effect was that the level of pollution has reduced by 50

percent. The weather of delhi became good once again. Some people tell me, now the weather has cleared. Please

don’t worry.

Be patient, burn less crackers

I believe that it is not clear for how long the impact of rain will last. diwali is on Sunday. The fear of pollution

returning again remains. My appeal to the people of delhi is to exercise restraint on Diwali. Burn less crackers.

The danger of pollution may again loom if firecrackers are burnt excessively.
