In this collection, you can see photographs taken at the memorial of music composer AR Rahman's mother, which is built like the Taj Mahal.

Music composer AR rahman is world famous for his music. His mother is also a major reason why he has reached such heights in cinema. Because of this, AR rahman was very fond of his mother. AR Rahman's mother Karima Begum passed away in 2022. As an expression of his love for his mother, rahman has built a monument for her that looks like the Taj Mahal.

Rahman has recently taken writer Nagur Rumi to this memorial located in Chennai. Nagur Rumi shared his experience of going there with amazement. Let's see, a few months ago, the sensational AR rahman gave me a phone call from Dubai. He told me that he had seen one of my videos and that he liked it and wanted to see me too, and inshallah he would let me know when he came to Chennai. But it has been more than a year since he said that. He is so PC.

In between he never forgot to send me three special front row tickets when there was a concert. A ticket is 30,000 rupees. I also went. Even there, I could not see him alone and talk to him. On the 26th suddenly one of his managers called me. He said that he would send the car on the morning of 27th january and that he had called at AR's house. He said the car will come at four in the morning. That's almost an hour before I go to bed. I had no choice but to take a shower and get ready at three o'clock.

The car reached Velachery (my daughter's house) exactly at four in the morning. I got into it and went to his house. There is no one at home! Silence. The person who made me sit at a place and said 'Sir will come' then left. I was looking at the phone for a while. What else to do? Around five o'clock rahman came. Upon arrival he said Salaam. Then he said can we pray. He and I went upstairs with another Keralite.

There was a place reserved for prayer. There was a beautiful rug, a picture of some dargah in Andhra, a map of a Muslim sage. He asked me if I am Imam. I don't always do that. So I politely declined. He himself performed Imamat. That kerala friend and I prayed for him to be Imam. Then we came down. Then a man and a woman came there. Little did I know that he was the legendary producer and director Rajeev Menon.

Then we all boarded a van. The van went to a place near Redhills. There was the burial place of Rahman's beloved mother. But something seemed to have arrived at the Taj Mahal. I haven't seen the taj mahal yet. The place was so beautiful. It was very well maintained. We took some pictures with him there. He kept his mother's burial place very 'rich'. The beauty of the blanket draped over the burial place was breathtaking. Opposite it was a map of Amma. Someone was reciting the Qur'an. Arranged to keep listening to the sound of Thirupadha being recited on a Yantra.

Tea and tiffin are all provided. rahman spoke highly of me to Rajiv Menon. rahman has seen many of my videos. It was evident in his speech.

While going to eat, Rahman's manager said, 'Are you Rafi Sir?' 'Yes. You?' I said. ‘Sir, I studied in Ampur. You are my professor,' he said. Double happiness. My student recognizes and honors me. He is Rahman's manager. I told rahman that Yugabharathi is my close long time friend. He said he writes songs brilliantly. I was very proud.

At the end it was brother poet Mahsukh Rahman (who wrote the tamil song for Khwaja Meri Khwaja from Jodhaa Akbar) who said. He also came and joined. He took some photos for me. On the way back I got down at Koiampet. To see my eldest daughter. He said goodbye saying that we will meet insha Allah. god will raise him higher and higher. Because he is a very simple man without the slightest pride, says Nagur Rumi passionately.
