The UN's international Organization for Migration told AFP that more than 200 people had died in Baghlan province due to heavy rains on Friday. The United Nations said that thousands of houses have also been damaged in this disaster. A large number of houses have either been destroyed or damaged.


The United Nations gave this information to AFP on Saturday. Apart from this, Natural Disaster Response Chief of Baghlan Province, Hedayatullah Hamdard told Tolo news that floods have caused huge devastation in Burka, Nahrin and Central Baghlan districts. Hedayatullah Hamdard said that relief and rescue work is going on. Dozens of people are missing and are being searched. Hedayatullah said that the death toll may increase.


Dead bodies sent to Central Hospital

Meanwhile, Taliban Public health Ministry spokesperson Sharafat Zaman said that rescue teams have reached the affected areas, rescue operations are ongoing. Sharafat Zaman said that the injured and dead bodies have been shifted to the Central Hospital. He said that the flood is so terrible that the exact information about how many people have been injured has not been known yet. Apart from this, Islamic Emirate spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has issued a statement expressing condolences to the flood victims in Baghlan, Badakhshan, Ghor and Herat districts.


There was flood in afghanistan last month also

Zabihullah Mujahid said that provincial and district officials have been ordered to use government resources. In the statement, the people of the country have been appealed to provide help to the flood victims. Similarly, at the beginning of last month, floods had caused huge devastation in afghanistan, in which 14 people died.
