Raj Subramaniam is a high-profile replacement in the minds of the board of directors when Smith, co - founder of FedEx, decided to step down after half a century. 



21 years long . It was a time when a Malayalee named raj Subramaniam spent time in various floors of a world-renowned company called FedEx. The corporate veteran succeeds W. Smith as the company's new CEO. raj Subramaniam, a native of thiruvananthapuram, is also the son of former DGP of kerala Subramaniam.

Raj's father Subramaniam hails from Kalpathy in palakkad district. He passed IPS in 1958. In 1964 he became the Rural SP in Thiruvananthapuram. He was the Commissioner of police, thiruvananthapuram City from 1971-73 and the Chief of State police from 1991-93.


Raj received his primary education from Loyola school and graduated from IIT bombay in 1983 with a gold Medal in Chemical Engineering. Although his family suggested civil service like his father, raj went on to study abroad in the United States.



After graduating with an MBA from the US, he became a junior analyst at FedEx through campus placement. At the age of 24, he married Uma, a student at IIM Ahmedabad. He was vice president of the FedEx in hong kong from 1996 to 2003. Incumbent President of canada until 2006.



He became the company's executive vice president in 2012 and president in 2017. Raj, who was president of FedEx Corporation in 2019, joined the board of directors in 2020. When Smith finally leaves the field, raj takes over as a replacement. Malayalees can now proudly say that our king is leading FedEx.
