Pujara scores 18th Test Ton and put India in driver's seat

The fourth test of India's tour of Australia began with India winning the toss and opting to bat first. While opener KL Rahul got out early in a disappointing fashion yet again, Mayank Agarwal stood firm despite the trouble around and forged a partnership with middle-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara.



The resilient duo piled up runs and went on to make a 116 run partnership before Mayank departed scoring 77(112), making it his second fifty of the series. Skipper Virat Kohli stayed for a while before he fell for a patient 23(59), and Rahane was dismissed sooner scoring 18(55).


Pujara went on to score a calm and composed ton, his third of the series and 5th against Aussies, and 18th overall, and Hanuma Vihari gave a solid
stand ,
as India ended day 1 of Sydney test at 303/4, with Pujara unbeaten on a rock solid 130(250)* and Vihari on 39(58)*. Hazlewood was the pick of Aussie howlers with figures of 2/51.
