The state's criminal Investigation Department (CID) has sent a notice in the POCSO case registered against him. The CID has asked Yediyurappa to appear for investigation. Yediyurappa is currently in delhi and after returning, he may appear before the investigation team.According to the police, a case has been registered against former cm Yediyurappa under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 354 A (sexual assault) of the indian Penal Code based on the complaint of the mother of a 17-year-old girl. The woman had alleged that Yediyurappa sexually assaulted her daughter during a meeting on february 2 this year.A few hours after the case was registered by the Sadashivanagar police on march 14, karnataka Director General of police Alok Mohan issued an order transferring it to the CID for further investigation with immediate effect. The 54-year-old woman who accused Yediyurappa died in hospital last month due to lung cancer.Yediyurappa is in DelhiHowever, Yediyurappa has termed this allegation as baseless. He said that he will fight the case legally. A party source said, "The CID had sent a notice yesterday asking him to appear today. But he is not in karnataka right now. Yediyurappa has gone to delhi, so he has sought time. He will appear before the police after three days."The CID has already recorded the statement of the victim and her mother under Section 164 of the Code of criminal Procedure (CrPC), police said.
