The new Members of parliament (MP) are all set to take their seats soon. Also know about their salary and allowances during their tenure.

MP Salary

The results of the lok sabha elections 2024 were announced on june 4. The results showed that the BJP-led national democratic alliance (NDA) crossed the threshold and bagged 293 seats. Meanwhile, india Bloc managed to deliver a strong performance as the opposition.

Member of Parliament

A Member of parliament (MP) gets a basic salary of Rs.1,00,000 per month. An mp gets Rs 70,000 per month as constituency allowance. It is provided for maintenance expenses of offices. MPs are given a daily stipend of Rs 2,000 for accommodation and other expenses during their stay in the capital.

Lok Sabha elections 2024

An mp will be provided with rent-free accommodation during their 5-year term. Dormitories, bungalows, flats or dormitories are provided on a seniority basis. Those who do not want to take accommodation will pay Rs. 2,00,000 as a scholarship.

MP Allowance

They are eligible for 34 free domestic flights in a year for themselves and their families. They are also entitled to free first-class train travel for work and personal purposes.

MP Salary Per Month

MPs are provided free medical care under the central government Health Scheme (CGHS). MPs have many benefits and allowances called allowances like pension, telephone and internet, water and electricity.
