The epicenter was at a depth of 110 km, not much damage was done


The National Seismology Center has told on its X handle that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of about 110 km in Myanmar. Due to the epicenter being at a depth, the tremors of the earthquake that occurred at 6.43 pm on wednesday evening were felt far away, but it has not caused much damage.

8 districts of assam are flooded, 40 thousand people affected

Due to continuous rains due to cyclone Remal, the water level of rivers in assam has reached dangerous levels. This has caused floods in 8 districts Nagaon, Hailakandi, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, Cachar, Hojai, Golaghat and West Karbi Anglong, affecting more than 40,000 people. After the death of a person due to drowning in flood water in Karimganj district, 5 people have died in the state due to flood water since Tuesday. Currently, two persons are missing in Cachar district, whose search is on. Embankments have broken in many villages, while landslides have occurred on a large scale. Karimganj is the worst affected by the floods, where 26,430 people have been shifted to safer places. Traffic system has also been affected due to roads being washed away in many places in the state.

Floods affect more than 10 thousand people in Manipur

Continuous rains due to Remal cyclone have also caused floods in Manipur. Due to heavy rains in the Imphal valley, the water of the Imphal river has entered hundreds of houses, affecting about 10,000 people. According to officials, due to the rise in water in the Nambul river, 86 areas of Imphal West district have been flooded. people are being shifted to safer places. An NDRF team has reached Imphal by plane at around 10.30 pm on wednesday night to help in the rescue operation. The Irang Bailey Bridge on National Highway 37 connecting Imphal and silchar collapsed at Taobam village in Noni district, blocking traffic movement.
