Government issues warning to mobile users for calls coming from these numbers

The Union Ministry of Telecommunication has warned about fake whatsapp calls coming from the Telecom Department. These calls coming in the name of the telecom industry have become a threat to mobile users.


These cyber criminals who use the name of the telecom industry threaten innocent people to disconnect their numbers and misuse their numbers for illegal activities.


The Department of Telecommunications has also issued an advisory on whatsapp calls from foreign mobile numbers such as +92-X to fool people by pretending to be government officials.


Government issues warning to mobile users for calls coming from these numbers

Fraudsters use these calls to threaten people and obtain their personal information to commit financial fraud. The Department of Telecom has clarified that it does not authorize anyone to make such calls on its behalf and people should be alert.


The telecom department has also asked them not to share any information when they receive such fake phone calls.


The Department of Telecommunications has advised the public that they can file their complaints about such fraudulent calls through the Sanchar Saathi (www.sancharsaathi.gov.in) website.
