'Rome belongs to Pop, Madhepura belongs to Gop'..?

Today (March 24), JDU has announced the names of candidates for all 16 seats for the lok sabha elections. In one of these, the party has given a chance to dinesh chandra yadav from Madhepura lok sabha constituency for the second time. dinesh chandra yadav will join RJD in 2019. He won by defeating BJP's candidate Sharad Yadav by about 3 lakh votes. Due to this, the party has trusted him again. In 2019, dinesh chandra yadav got 6,24,334 votes while his rival was the mp from Madhepura for four consecutive terms. Sharad Yadav got half of them, 3,22,807 votes, while Pappu Yadav, the strong leader of that area, got only 97,631 votes.

bp Mandal became the first MP

Many veterans have tried their luck on Madhepura lok sabha seat. This lok sabha constituency was created in 1967. At that time, for the first time, bp Mandal, who was the Chairman of the Mandal Commission and was a resident of Murho village of Madhepura, became the mp of that area. After this, in 1977, bp Mandal was victorious for the second time. The biggest thing is that all the MPs from this area since 1967 have all been from Yadav caste. Apart from Yadav, no other caste has become mp here. Be it from any party. It is a different matter that this area has been under the control of all the parties. congress party has also won elections from this area thrice, but after 1989, congress did not return to this area.

Lalu Yadav has also contested elections

After this, the late Sharad Yadav, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, has been mp from this region four times. He has been mp in 1991, 1996, 1999, and 2009 in which Sharad Yadav has been elected mp twice from Janata Dal and twice from Janata JDU. RJD supremo Lalu prasad Yadav has also been mp from this area twice, in 1998 and 2004. However, in 1999, Lalu prasad Yadav was defeated by the people of this area and Sharad Yadav won. Powerful leader Pappu Yadav also became mp from this area on the RJD ticket in 2014, but in 2019 RJD did not give him a chance, so he contested the elections on his party's symbol and remained in third position.
