In an important meeting attended by senior leaders of the party, Maonong has introduced his political successor. Meanwhile akash Anand, who was seen as a key data-face during Mayawati's campaign in the last 2019 lok sabha elections, is the national coordinator of the Bahujan Samaj Party. Moreover 28 year old akash Anand entered politics ahead of the 2019 lok sabha elections. akash Anand has been spotted at BSP events even before he was widely seen in various photographs with mayawati and other BSP leaders. He became widely known during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh state election campaign when he campaigned with his aunt. Akash, an MBA in London, is the son of Mayawati's brother Anand. On her instagram profile, she posts herself as a young supporter of Ambedkar's vision and stands for education, empowerment and equality.


Apparently Bahujan Samaj party chief Udayveer Singh said that anand has been given the responsibility of strengthening the party organization across the country. He said akash Anand would be his political successor after Mayawati. akash Anand's appointment comes amid the suspension of Danish ali Bahujan Samaj party who, along with other opposition members, walked out of lok sabha proceedings to protest the disqualification of Trinamool Congress's mahua moitra from the lok sabha for unethical conduct.
