ASEAN-India small grain festival started in Indonesia!?

The ASEAN-India Small Grain festival kicked off in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The ASEAN-India Small Grains festival 2023 kicked off yesterday in Kota Casablanca, a major shopping mall in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The Embassy of india to ASEAN countries in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is organizing the ASEAN-India Small Grains festival 2023 in indonesia from november 22 to 26.


The opening session of the festival was held in Kota Casablanca, a major shopping mall in South Jakarta, Indonesia. As part of the festival, an exhibition focusing on small grains is organized, in which innovative companies based on small grains, indian chefs participate. It is said that the aim of the festival is to create awareness and create a market for small grains and related products in ASEAN member countries like Brunei, Cambodia, indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, thailand and Vietnam.


During this festival, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare leads a delegation from india representing various professionals involved in the indian small grains ecosystem, including chefs, industrialists, representatives of agro producer organizations, industry leaders, state officials and others. From november 23rd to 26th, this live cooking workshop will showcase the culinary potential of small grains by renowned chefs from india and Indonesia.


Ambassador of india to ASEAN, Jayant Khopragade, in his welcome address highlighted the important role of small grains in addressing global hunger and malnutrition. In addition, Arif Prasetyo Adi, head of Indonesia's National Food Agency, pointed out that small grains are an optimal, sustainable food choice for farmers in the future in the data-face of climate change.
