Rush for TDP Ticket in Kovur!
Kovur (Nellore) Assembly segment has its own importance in the district. TDP has strong base in the segment. TDP has won this segment since its inception. TDP won six times, Congress twice and YSRCP once in this segment. Recent political developments and by-election results in 2012 cause dissatisfaction among the cadre. TDP has committed to bag Kovur again from YSRCP. Not only TDP leaders but Congress leaders also have in trails for TDP Ticket.
Some leaders said that we have assurance from TDP President directly other leaders denied that rumors. Those who are aspirants for TDP ticket have started their own programs separately. Second layer leaders and cadre have no direction to follow. The reason for all this mess is that TDP has no in-charge for Kovur so far. Senior TDP leader Somireddy has concentrated on Sarvepalli. This made clear for other leaders in TDP. Ex-MLA Pollam Reddy Srinivasul Reddy who joined in Congress and won the segment with 300 votes wants to return to TDP again.
Industrialist Pellakuru Srinivasula Reddy who worked hard for the party in the segment and spent huge sum of money in Panchayat elections is in race for Kovur TDP nominee. He was involved in party activities in the segment. Vemireddy Pattabhirami Reddy was started his campaign without having any permission of TDP High Command. He also joined in Congress in 2004 and returned to TDP recently. Both Congress and TDP leaders are trying for Kovur ticket as TDP nominee.
