Today is the 30th death anniversary of veteran actor prem Nath Malhotra, who started his acting journey in the fifties. Let me tell you, prem Malhotra is an actor in hindi cinema, who gave many super hit films as a hero but got recognition after becoming a villain.Born on 21 november 1926, prem Nath Malhotra was born in Peshawar, Pakistan. But, due to partition, his family settled in jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. However, prem Malhotra, who was interested in acting since his sports days, settled in Mayanagari after some time to give flight to his dreams. Going to Mumbai, he joined prithvi Raj Kapoor's prithvi Theater and made the plays held there a part of his life.

He started his film journey with the film 'Ajith' in the year 1948 but could not succeed. After that, his performance in raj Kapoor's film 'Aag' in the same year and 'Barsaat' in the year 1949 was highly appreciated by the audience. prem Nath was very successful in making his mark among the audience with these films. He worked with every superhit actress in his career, including actresses like Ramola, Madhubala, Nikar Sultan, Suraiya, and Bina Rai. During the shooting of the film "Aurat" in 1953, he fell in love with actress Bina Rai and the two got married. With Bina, prem Nath ventured into the field of film production and together they worked in the P.N. Films banner established. He produced many films during this period, but all the films proved to flop at the box office. After this prem Nath stepped back from the filmmaking field and turned his full attention to acting.

He acted as a lead actor in some films, which were well-liked by the people. But he decided to leave the role of his hero in films and establish himself as a villain. In the film "Johnny Mera Naam" in the year 1970, he made a different place in the mind of the audience in the role of Rai Saheb. After this, prem Nath played Dimple's father in rishi kapoor and actress Dimple Kapadia's film 'Bobby', for which he was awarded the 'Best Supporting Actor award by Filmfare.

His role played in the film "Dharmatma" released in the year 1975 became very popular. He acted in more than two hundred and fifty films in his film career like kali Charan, Sanyasi, Sagai, Shor, Badal, Dharma-Karma, Loafer, Dhan-Daulat, and Beman Jessie. But, due to ill health in the 80s, he retired from films, due to which the 1985 film 'Hum Doon' became the last film of his life.

But he did not limit his journey to the film world, after that he tried himself in the field of politics. He formed his independent party, for the promotion of which he traveled across the country and gave many speeches in the interest of his party. But he did not like the deceit of politics for long and within a few years, he distanced himself from the political corridors.

He died on 3 november 1992, and this data-face who ruled the hearts of the people for three decades disappeared from the eyes of this world. He may not be in this world today, but his name is still taken among the veteran actors of hindi cinema.
