But, due to partition, his family settled in jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. However, prem Malhotra, who was interested in acting since his sports days, settled in Mayanagari after some time to give flight to his dreams. Going to Mumbai, he joined prithvi Raj Kapoor's prithvi Theater and made the plays held there a part of his life.
He acted as a lead actor in some films, which were well-liked by the people. But he decided to leave the role of his hero in films and establish himself as a villain. In the film "Johnny Mera Naam" in the year 1970, he made a different place in the mind of the audience in the role of Rai Saheb.
