Tempo traveler with 23 people collapsed in the gorge, 8 died...


A tempo traveller carrying over 23 people plunged into a deep canyon on the Rishikesh-Badrinath route in Rudraprayag, uttarakhand, on Saturday, resulting in about eight fatalities and fifteen injuries, according to State Disaster Response Force commandant Manikant Mishra. The SDRF official went on to say that since some of the injured are in critical condition, the number of deaths is probably going to rise. According to Manikant Mishra, the number of passengers in the tempo traveller was initially unclear. The SDRF and police personnel were reportedly performing rescue operations, according to news agency ANI. So far, the personnel in an ambulance have taken two injured patients to a hospital.

Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami responded to the tragedy by saying, "Those who were seriously hurt in the Rudraprayag road accident are being airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh." The officials have received instructions on how to better care for the injured. Our government is dedicated to giving the affected people every assistance possible.” Pushkar Singh Dhami remarked, "Very sad news was received about a tempo traveller accident in Rudraprayag district," in an earlier post on X, . Teams from the SDRF and the local government are working on relief and rescue efforts. The injured have been sent to the closest hospital to receive care. It has been mandated that the district magistrate look into the situation.

"I ask god to give the departed's spirits a seat at his feet and to give the bereaved family the strength they need to endure this unbearable grief. I pray to baba Kedar for the injured people's quick recovery," the chief minister of uttarakhand continued.
