Temperature across Telangana close to 47°C - IMD Predicts Rain in May

The severe summer heat makes everyday routines difficult due to the constant heat. telangana State Development Planning Society data shows that at 4 pm on May 1, maximum temperatures exceeded 45 degrees Celsius at 146 sites throughout telangana districts. With a sweltering 46.6 degrees Celsius, Gudapur in the nalgonda district seized the lead and registered the maximum temperature of the day in the state. On Wednesday, May 1, hyderabad did not have the same degree of heat.
 

Quthbullapur registered 43.4 degrees Celsius, Khairatabad 43.1 degrees Celsius, and several areas, including Rein Bazar, Banjara Hills, West Marredpally, Osmania University, Mehdipatnam, Uppal, Gachibowli, and Langar Houz, witnessed temperatures of 43 degrees Celsius. The weather department issued a red alert for Thursday, May 2 for parts of nalgonda, Suryapet, Khammam, Mahabubabad, bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, and Jayashankar bhupalpally districts. 

What to Expect in May?

Scientists at IMD have predicted above-average rainfall throughout the month, with a focus on the likelihood of precipitation during the third week of May.
 
The director General of the india Meteorological Department, Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, stated that El Niño conditions are predicted to last until the Northern Hemisphere's early summer.
 
Between april and june, El Niño is predicted to give way to ENSO-neutral conditions, with a greater likelihood of La Niña forming between june and August. According to some weather models, La Niña is most likely to develop during the monsoon season in 2024.
