Chief minister of delhi and leader of the aam aadmi party arvind kejriwal was summoned by a delhi court on Thursday. This came about as a result of a new complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate, which asked for Kejriwal's prosecution for allegedly ignoring many summonses in connection with a money laundering case involving the now-canceled delhi excise policy.

Kejriwal has been summoned by the court to appear on march 16. The AAP convenor was accused of violating Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for failing to respond to summonses number 4 through 8. The Enforcement Directorate filed a complaint about this on Wednesday.

The case was scheduled for hearing on thursday before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) divya Malhotra's court.

Later, kejriwal attacked prime minister Narendra Modi in an X post, claiming that the ED was "harassing" opposition politicians into joining the BJP.

The investigation team had previously filed a local court request for Kejriwal's prosecution for failing to appear at the first three summonses in the money laundering case related to the now-cancelled delhi excise policy.

On march 16, the court scheduled a hearing for this case (pertaining to summonses number 1 through 3).

The Enforcement Directorate's charge papers in the excise policy case contain several references to Kejriwal.

According to the agency, the accused spoke with kejriwal on the development of the excise policy for 2021–2022.

AAP officials manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, party communications head Vijay Nair, and a few liquor merchants have all been taken into custody thus far by the investigation agency.
