Tollywood Box Office gets Sun Stroke too!

G GOWTHAM
The box office in tollywood is presently going through a serious downturn. No matter how good a film is, it will inevitably encounter significant obstacles when it comes out. The climate is hardly conducive to a successful film, with telugu state elections, ongoing IPL matches, and extreme heat.

While filmmakers continue to produce films on time, none of them have had a major effect since the end of March's "Tillu Square" release. It's been over five weeks, and new releases have had trouble drawing in crowds. Even though some films have excellent material, they have trouble attracting audiences in certain situations. These films may have had at least a mediocre reaction in a regular setting.

In certain parts of the telugu states, temperatures have risen to 44 degrees Celsius, causing election fever to peak and discouraging people from going to matinee and morning plays.

Even while some people go to evening screenings, IPL matches compete with them, which has an impact on box office earnings and theatre occupancy.

There were several releases this past weekend, including "Sabari," "Prasanna Vadanam," "Aa Okkati Adakku," and "Baak." Although "Prasanna Vadanam" got good reviews, moviegoers haven't been flocking to theatres in large numbers.

"Aa Okkati Adakku" made a little bit more money on its second day of sales compared to its first, but it is still a long way from being a smash.

"Baak," which may have done well in a different situation, has bleak future prospects. "Sabari" hasn't performed too well.

A big release is much needed at the box office to turn things around, especially in light of the current situation. But the sector may have to wait till after the IPL ends, the elections are gone, and the weather cools off.
