Rs.20 Crores defamation suit filed on Ex-DIG Roopa who said Sasikala gets VVIP treatment inside the prison
Well, you must have known DIG Roopa as she is the one who exposed the VVIP treatment received by Sasikala in the prison. Now, she has been slapped by her former boss with a 20 Crores defamation suit. Her former Director-General of Prisons HN Satyanarayana Rao slapped Roopa with a Rs 20-crore defamation suit as she made some baseless allegations against him.
The court has issued summon for Ex-DIG Roopa and she was ordered to appear before the court on or before 16th of December. But Roopa denied the news and she said she never received anything from the court so far.
Satyanarayana already served a legal notice to Roopa and asked her to issue an apology in all newspapers, and if she failed to do so, she will be slapped with legal proceedings. For those who are unaware, Roopa submitted a report to Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau that Sathyanarayana accepted 2 Crores bribe and provided VVIP treatment for Sasikala in the Bengaluru Jail. As this created a state embarrassment, Roopa was moved to Traffic and Road Safety and Satyanarayana retired later on.
