17 year old boy killed by speeding Mercedes
As per report from New Delhi have stated that a day before he was to begin Class 12 in school, a 17 year old boy in Delhi was killed by a speeding Mercedes that dragged his scooter for about 100 meters on Sunday night. It was stated that Atul Arora, a Class 12 student of Bal Bharati School, was on his way home after dropping a friend when the car collided head-on with his scooter. The teen died instantly. He was not wearing a helmet.
The incident had taken place around 11 pm, not
far from Atul's home in Pashchim Vihar. His family says he was returning from a
Satsang, which is a religious discourse. After the crash, the Mercedes driver
did not stop but drove off, hitting a truck on the way. The police have said
that the maker of the car has been identified from CCTV footage but have drawn
a blank on the number or the driver.
Suresh Arora had said that “The car dragged Atul's scooty for at least 100 meter. The car also hit a truck and then, speeded off. The police have taken our statement," and Atul’s father, an officer of the Delhi Development Authority, suffers from partial paralysis. His mother Sangeeta Arora is a teacher and he has two sisters, Ruchi and Archana.
She had said "Today was supposed to be his
first day in 12th grade. He wanted to travel around the world and was extremely
religious. In fact he was at a satsang yesterday and bad gone to drop a friend
home when this happened," Ruchi Arora, 27, had told that "We want the
driver caught”.
