Committee to study Covishield impacts: PIL filed in supreme Court!

A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the supreme court seeking to set up a committee of medical experts to investigate the effects of Covishield.AstraZeneca, the manufacturer of the vaccine, has told the UK court that Covishield vaccine can cause side effects such as blood clotting and low blood platelets. In a british court filing, AstraZeneca said the 'COVISHIELD' vaccine can cause a very rare blood clotting side effect called TTS.

As around 51 people have sued in a british court alleging deaths and injuries caused by the vaccine, AstraZeneca's explanation has set the stage for them to be compensated. While about 174.94 crore Covishield vaccines have been administered in india, AstraZeneca, the manufacturer of the CoviShield vaccine, has shocked the UK court by stating that side effects may occur from the CoviShield vaccine. In this situation, a public interest petition has been filed in the supreme court asking that a committee of medical experts should be formed and study the effects caused by Govishield corona vaccine. A Public Interest Petition has been filed in the supreme court while the AstraZeneca company has admitted in the british court that Covishield vaccine may cause blood clots and low blood platelets.

As far as india is concerned, Covacin produced and distributed by hyderabad Bharat Biotech Company and Covishield produced and distributed by pune Serum Company were administered to Corona. In this, Covaxin vaccine is being prepared by National Institute of Virology in collaboration with ICMR, National Institute of Virology. It is made in India.On the other hand, it is worth noting that the Serum Institute of india has developed the COVID-19 vaccine “Covishield” in collaboration with the Oxford university of england and the multinational pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.
