The police commissioner gave these instructions

According to the data, 128 cases were registered under the Arms Act till October. In these cases, 157 weapons (guns) and 1455 live cartridges were seized and 122 people were arrested. The seized weapons include 46 country-made revolvers, 99 country-made pistols and 11 foreign-made weapons. These include Turkish and Austrian Glock model pistols related to the murder of baba Siddiqui.
Arms smuggling by road
An official said that arms smuggling in mumbai is mainly happening through road transport and in such a situation it is not possible to search every person at the entry point without accurate information. During the investigation, it has also come to light that many of the seized weapons were made in places like Burhanpur in madhya pradesh and Munger in Bihar. Sources also claimed that “these areas are major centers for making illegal weapons, where pistols and revolvers can be purchased for Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. The operation is ongoing with regular raids, Burhanpur is a major arms supplier location for mumbai due to its proximity to Maharashtra.
