According to the report of Live Law, after hearing the petition of Prabir Purkayastha challenging the arrest by delhi police in the UAPA case, the bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice sandeep Mehta said, 'Remand copy was not provided by delhi police and due to this. The basis of arrest has been affected, hence we cancel the arrest of Prabir Purkayastha. The court also said that at the time of Purkayastha's arrest, it was not told what was the basis for it. Purkayastha was in jail under UAPA since october 3 last year. kapil sibal presented arguments on behalf of Purkayastha in the court.

Purkayastha had challenged his arrest and remand by delhi police in the supreme Court.
