Akshay Oberoi All In Praise Of His 'Fighter' Co-Star hrithik roshan, Says 'I Was Dancing With The Greatest Dancer On The Planet'

The high-octane ariel-action ‘Fighter’, starring hrithik roshan and deepika padukone, was a super hit at the theatres. Released on Republic Day, the movie directed by siddharth anand and produced by Marflix Pictures and Viacom18 Studios, was an adrenaline-pumping experience. After its theatrical run, ‘Fighter’ was released on Netflix a few days back, making it accessible to a global audience.

The story revolves around air Force pilots who get ready for a mission but at the same time make space to know each other and spend time together. With the Balakot airstrike at its backdrop, the movie weaves a tale of resilience, bravery, and sacrifice- all for the motherland.

Apart from hrithik roshan and deepika padukone in lead roles, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, akshay oberoi, karan Singh Grover, Talat Aziz, and many others. In a conversation with   Live over a video call, akshay oberoi talked about what the film means to him and considers himself lucky to have got to work with eminent actors.

Akshay also told how much he loved the character of Squadron leader Basheer saying that it was a lifetime opportunity. He said, "It's once in a lifetime opportunity. I wish they make a prequel, a sequel. I would love to be a part of this movie. I loved working with Sid and everyone. It's a big thing for me to be a part of a movie like that."

Talking about whether this movie would be a turning point in his career Akshay said, "I hope so. That's what these big movies help with. I have been working for a long time, but I never had a big release like this. Every actor has their own story, but I think when the audience discusses this later on, they will see this movie as an inflection point in my journey."

Akshay also went on to share about his character Basheer and told all he did to prepare for the role. "There was so much homework to do for this movie. I had to learn the lingo of an air Force pilot, learn the body language, how they address the seniors, and of course, the dancing gig was also very important because I was dancing with the greatest dancer on the planet!"

After 'Fighter', akshay oberoi has several films in his pipeline including 'Dil Hai Gray', 'Varchasva', 'Ek Kori prem Katha' and more.
