Shaitaan monday Test: 'Shaitaan' collection dropped by 66 percent on monday, madhavan and Devgan failed in Monday's test

After director Vikas Bahl's film 'Ganpat Part One', the new film 'Shaitan', released on the big screen, has failed miserably in the first monday test of the domestic box office. The collection of the film has fallen by about 66 percent on monday as compared to Sunday. Now, to stay in the field, this film will have to earn at least Rs 100 crore by thursday because two big films 'Yodha' and 'Bastar The Naxal Story' are being released simultaneously on coming friday and for both these films, Considering the number of screens required, 'Shaitan' will not only have fewer screens, but it may also have to work hard to garner viewers in the second week.

According to the final figures of domestic earnings of the film 'Shaitan', it earned around Rs 20.50 crore on Sunday. monday was considered to be a very important day for the film and since the people who had seen the film did not like it much, it was considered certain that its collection would fall sharply on Monday. The film was expected to earn around Rs 10 crore on monday, but there was a sharp decline of about 66 percent in the film's collection on monday as compared to Sunday. According to the initial figures of the film, it earned only Rs 7 crore on Monday.

Due to the sharp decline seen in the collection of the film 'Shaitan' on monday, it is now looking difficult for it to cross the earning figure of Rs 100 crore in the first week. The budget of the film is around Rs 65 crore and it has to earn at least Rs 130 crore at the domestic box office to qualify as a hit. The film earned well in the first three days of its release due to the curiosity created by its trailer, but the film failed in the monday test. According to Monday's test, the film should have earned at least Rs 10 crore at the box office.

If a film earns 50 percent or more of its total earnings at the domestic box office on sunday or monday, then there are chances of the film becoming a hit. Usually, only those people come to watch movies on Mondays who hear the movie's praise (word of mouth) from the moviegoers in the first three days of its release. Ticket rates also start decreasing in theaters from this day, hence monday has always been a challenging day for the film business.

The film 'Shaitan' satisfied the wishes of the filmmakers by earning around Rs 14.75 crore on the first day of its release. On the second day, the film earned Rs 18.75 crore, a jump of about 27 percent. Almost the same increase was expected in the film's sunday collection, but despite it being a holiday, the film's collection on sunday could only increase by nine percent to reach Rs 20.50 crore. The film 'Shaitan' earned around Rs 54 crore at the domestic box office in the first three days of its release. This is about Rs 10 crore less than the first-weekend collection of ajay Devgan's previous hit film 'Drishyam 2'.
