Contrary to what certain media outlets have reported, actor vijay sethupathi does not play the antagonist in filmmaker Sukumar's "Pushpa 2: The Rule." In an interview with the media, a source close to the actor claimed that vijay sethupathi was now just portraying the villain in filmmaker Atlee's telugu film "Jawan," which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara in the key roles.

Vijay Sethupathi was reportedly cast in the sequel to the hugely successful telugu film "Pushpa: The Rise," which stars Allu Arjun, rashmika mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in the key roles. sukumar revealed that he had already shot certain scenes for "Pushpa: The Rule," but that these would need to be reshot in a previous interview with the media. sukumar had previously told the media, "I will have to shoot the full picture," and he had stated his intention to release the movie on december 16, 2022, much like he did with "Pushpa 2:The Rise" on december 17, 2021.
