High Fares at 20 toll booths...!? Do you know where?
Fares have been hiked at 20 toll booths across tamil Nadu since early this morning. More than 450 toll booths are functioning on various highways across India. The tolls charged at these toll booths are hiked from time to time. A total of 53 customs booths are functioning in tamil Nadu. At some of these toll booths, customs fees are increased once a year. Accordingly, the fee is being increased for some toll booths on april 1 and other toll booths on september 1.
In this case, the fee has been increased in 20 toll booths in tamil Nadu. The fare hike has come into effect this morning. Accordingly Vikravandi, Tindivanam, Ulundurpet, Kodai Road, Thirundukal Bypass, Samayanallur, Manavasi, Trichy, Karur, Mettuppady, Salem, Ulundurpet, Omalur, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Thumpipadi, Ponnambalapatti, Trichy-Thindukal, Pudur Pandiyapuram, Madurai-Tuticorin, The toll hike has come into force at 20 toll booths including Samayapuram-Badalur-Trichy, Sengurichi-Ulunturpet-Badalur.
Due to this increase in fares, the drivers are affected. For example, at the Vikravandi toll booth near Villupuram, a toll of 90 rupees was being charged for cars and jeeps. The fee has been increased by Rs 10 from today. Due to this, the fee has increased to Rs.100. Similarly, the toll charges for heavy vehicles like buses and trucks have also increased significantly at this toll plaza. Accordingly, the toll for heavy vehicles was 310 rupees till yesterday. The fee has now increased to Rs 355. They are commenting that this fare hike will cause inconvenience to many people.
