Birbal was clever but he was no man of beauty. Once the court was discussing the topic of beauty when Do-Piazza taunted Birbal, “Man! When God was distributing beauty where were you?” The courtiers laughed. They thought that Birbal would be too smitten to reply. But Birbal won’t take anything lying down. He said, “God was distributing lot of other things as well, like wealth, power and brains. I stood in the queen for brains were In a hurry to join the lines for those other things. They dashed away after grabbing little brains. But I stood and received All the brains without rushing off. That is why I couldn’t get other things but I have more brains than all of you put together.” That silenced the others.
