Export of electricity to Bangladesh..!? gautam Adani's top work..!?
Bangladesh, which is one of the fastest growing countries in South Asia, is suffering from electricity shortages. gautam adani plans to start exporting electricity to bangladesh from a coal-fired thermal power plant located in the eastern part of india to overcome this problem. adani Power Limited owns a 1.6 GW thermal power plant to be set up in the state of Jharkhand. From this, gautam adani has said that the exclusive transmission line for export to bangladesh will be implemented by december 16.
After meeting bangladesh Prime minister Sheikh Hasina in delhi late on Monday, gautam adani tweeted that the country will receive electricity through a new transmission line from the 1.6-gigawatt thermal power plant being set up in the state of Jharkhand. While india already has a shortage of electricity, it has created an opportunity to create a plan to generate more electricity through export trade.
It is seen as an important project to help neighboring countries by using the existing infrastructure in India. adani Group's infrastructure, port, and energy business has already expanded into financial down sri lanka and is now expanding into bangladesh also.Bangladesh data-faces nationwide energy shortages due to rising gas and coal prices following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. bangladesh is heavily dependent on imported fossil fuels for power generation and aims to double its power generation capacity by 2041 to support its export-oriented economy.
Jharkhand is one of India's largest coal-mining regions, but a thermal power plant in the region will use mainly fuel imported from abroad, according to a 2017 approval document from the environment ministry.
Adani's cost is high to transport coal by sea from places like australia and south africa and then by rail to the plant. The project has been criticized for many years. But now it is expected to offset the price due to electricity exports.
