Can BRS do the daunting task of rebuilding the cadre?

SIBY JEYYA
Ten years ago, when United andhra pradesh was separated, two telugu states held assembly elections concurrently with general elections. After five years, telangana chief minister kcr decided to hold early elections, which were set to take place six months ahead of schedule. Thus, telangana had assembly elections in december of 2018 and andhra pradesh in april of 2019. It is currently believed that the telangana chief minister KCR's choice to call early elections in 2018 was a strategic error that presented serious difficulties for the party.

The early elections, which were first hailed as a cunning political maneuver to win a second term in office, have now caused difficulties for the BRS party. The BRS party's reputation and morale have taken a hit following their recent setback in the national elections on december 3rd and KCR's loss in the kamareddy assembly district. The state of the party is getting worse as MLAs and leaders publicly voice their displeasure, and some have even started to defect to other parties. KCR's worries have grown as a result of senior leaders like Kadiam srihari and K. Kesava Rao's choice to quit the BRS.

For instance, Kadiam Srihari, the mla for Station Ghanpur, is planning to join the congress, a development that may alter the political climate in the area. Political dynamics might change significantly as a result of his joining the congress, particularly in Warangal. The possibility of K. Kesava Rao and his daughter Vijaya Lakshmi, the mayor of GHMC, joining the congress is also being discussed. Within party circles, reflection is being prompted by the leaders of the BRS leaving to join other parties.

Many now think that kcr made a mistake by calling early elections, and the party is currently suffering as a result. With the recent failures and internal unrest, the BRS has a difficult task ahead of it: rebuilding its cadre and getting ready for the upcoming elections.
