Telangana - ACB unearths assets worth Rs 3.2 cr from Tahsildar

On Wednesday, a charge was filed against the Tehsildar and Joint Sub Registrar of Jammikunta Mandal in the karimnagar district for obtaining property via unethical and fraudulent ways while working for her. Markala Rajani, a Tahsildar and Joint Sub Registrar of Jammikunta Mandal, has been named as the accused. 

Preliminary searches were carried out at her home and five other locations that belonged to her family, associates, and benami homes since this is an offense that is punished under section 13(2) r/w 13(1) (e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), according to an official statement.
 

Property records for agricultural areas and open plots were discovered throughout the searches.
 
Furthermore, advance payment arrangements for the acquisition of three properties in her and her family members' names were discovered in the paperwork. It is anticipated that the market value will exceed the official figure significantly.
 
The acb also discovered automobiles, gold decorations, bank accounts, net cash, and household items. An approximate of Rs 3.2 crore is considered to represent the entire assets.
