In the past, the birth of a girl child was often viewed as an omen of misfortune, but societal perceptions have shifted over time. Now, the arrival of a girl is celebrated akin to royalty, as women increasingly carve out special places for themselves across various domains. They excel in education, andmedicine, and notably, are rising to prominence in politics, serving as inspirational figures for many.
This trend is particularly striking in andhra pradesh, where women's participation in politics is robust. With elections looming on the 13th, the Chief Electoral Officer, mukesh Kumar Meena, has highlighted the significant presence of female voters statewide. Since the final list released by the Central election commission on january 22, 2024, the voter count in andhra pradesh has surged from 4,08,07,256 to 4,14,01,887.
Among these voters, women outnumber men, totalling 2,10,58,615 compared to 2,03,39,851 male voters, with a notable increase of 5,94,631 voters overall. kurnool leads the districts with the highest number of voters, boasting 20,56,203, followed closely by Anantapur with 20,20,243, and visakha with 20,16,069.
Conversely, Alluri seetharamaraju district records the lowest number of voters, totalling only 7,71,478. Despite variations in district voter counts, the prevailing trend underscores the significant presence of women in the voter demographic, marking a notable shift in Andhra Pradesh's political landscape.
