Instagram, Facebook down globally, users urged to 'log in again'
On tuesday evening, data-facebook and instagram went down in several regions of the world, including India. Users on each of these services complained about difficulties logging in. They had removed their data-facebook and instagram accounts. Some users could not get instagram pages to refresh. It was requested by many people to update their passwords. Users of YouTube soon began to experience a similar problem.
Tens of thousands of users were unable to access Meta Platforms' data-facebook and instagram on tuesday, according to the outage tracking website Downdetector.com. According to the website that analyses outages by compiling status information from several sources, including users, there were over 300,000 complaints of outages on data-facebook and over 20,000 incidents on Instagram.
Hundreds of people took to microblogging site X (fomerly Twitter) reporting about data-facebook and instagram ouatge. One user wrote, “Is meta down or am I being hacked? 😂 my instagram isn’t loading and my data-facebook is also “session logged out". Another said, “I thought my data-facebook and instagram got hacked for a second."
"Me coming to twitter to see if #INSTAGRAM is down once again," another user tweeted. An X user 'Fram Freeman' claimed, "I've been scrambling changing passwords 3 times thinking I'm racing the hackers like in a movie lol."
